Questions masjids ask us
Getting started
How long does setup take?
Setup is three steps you can do yourself: create your masjid, check the times, and connect each TV with your Masjid ID.
Do we need a technician?
No. If you can plug a stick into a TV's HDMI port and type a 6-digit number with the remote, you can set it up.
Can we try it before paying?
Yes. Every masjid starts with a 30-day free trial with every feature, and no card is needed.
Can several people manage our masjid?
Yes. Invite your committee by email and choose what your admins can change.
TV and hardware
Which devices work?
Android TV and Google TV devices, including a Google TV stick plugged into any TV or monitor, and TVs with Google TV built in.
Can we use the TV we already have?
Yes, if it has an HDMI port: plug in a Google TV stick. If it already runs Google TV, install the app directly.
How many screens can we have?
As many as you need, all on one subscription, each with its own design and language: the prayer hall, the lobby, the women's prayer hall.
Can a screen hang in portrait?
Yes. Choose portrait for the screen in the portal and set the mounting angle on the TV.
What if the internet goes down?
The screen keeps showing the right times. It calculates them itself and catches up with your changes when the connection is back.
Does it start by itself after a power cut?
Yes, once the app is allowed to "display over other apps" during setup. How it works shows how.
Prayer times
Which calculation methods are supported?
Automatic by country, any of over 90 named authorities, or your own angles.
Is the Hanafi Asr supported?
Yes, with any method.
Can we set our own iqama times?
Yes, a fixed time or minutes after the adhan for each prayer.
How do we handle Ramadan changes?
Plan them in advance as a seasonal period. The screens and the app announce them the day before.
What about daylight saving?
It's handled automatically, using your masjid's own time zone.
We are at a high latitude. Will Isha and Fajr be sensible in summer?
Yes. Choose a high-latitude rule, such as the seventh of the night.
Congregation app
Is it free for worshippers?
Yes, it's included in your masjid's plan.
Do they need an account?
No. They install the app and follow your masjid.
How do they find our masjid?
With the QR code on your screen or poster, your 6-digit Masjid ID, your share link, or a search nearby or by city.
Which phones and watches does it support?
iPhone and Android phones with home- and lock-screen widgets, Apple Watch and Wear OS.
Billing
How much does it cost?
US$95 a year per masjid, the same in every country. Tax is added at checkout where it applies.
How do we pay?
Once a year, online through our payment gateway.
What happens when the free trial ends?
We email you a week before and the day before. Subscribe from the portal to carry on. If you don't, your screens show a message asking you to renew and the portal becomes read-only. Everything is kept for 90 days, so you can still subscribe and carry on, and we email you 30 days before it's deleted.
Can we cancel?
Yes, any time from the portal. Your subscription stays active until the end of the year you've paid for, and then doesn't renew.
What if a payment fails?
You keep full access for a 30-day grace period while you update your card. After that, the portal becomes read-only until you renew.
What happens if our subscription ends?
Your screens and the portal keep working for a 30-day grace period, with a reminder on the screens. After that, the screens show a message asking you to renew and the portal becomes read-only. Your data is kept for 12 months: renew, and everything works as before.
Do you give refunds?
Try everything free for 30 days first, with no card needed. After you pay, refunds are handled by our payment provider under its refund policy; our Refund Policy explains how to ask.
Do you issue invoices?
Yes. The payment gateway sends an invoice for every payment, and you can download them from the portal.
Languages
Which languages are available?
37 languages across the screens, the portal, the app and the timetables, including Arabic, Urdu, Turkish, French, Indonesian, Malay and Bengali.
Can two screens show different languages?
Yes. Each screen has its own language.
Can the screens use Arabic-Indic digits?
Yes, chosen separately from the language.
Security and data
Who can change our times?
Only the admins you invite, within the permissions you give them.
How are admin accounts protected?
With a second sign-in step for every admin and a check against known breached passwords.
Can we delete our data?
Yes. Delete your account or the whole masjid from the portal, with 30 days to change your mind.
